Vor 100 Tagen hat die unabhängige Expert*innenkommission Gas und Wärme Vorschläge für den Umgang mit steigenden Energiepreisen vorgelegt. Umgesetzt wurde davon bislang die Gaspreisbremse. Karsten Neuhoff, Mitglied der Kommision und Leiter der Abteilung Klimapolitik im Deutschen Institut für Wirtschaftsforschung (DIW Berlin), mahnt weitere Schritte zur Energieeinsparung an:
Einsparen ist die sinnvollste Energiequelle. Eingespart wurden jedoch lediglich 14 Prozent Gas statt 25 Prozent wie von der Bundesnetzagentur empfohlen. Die Bundesregierung sollte die konkreten Empfehlungen der Expert*innenkommission umsetzen: Die Menschen zu Energieeinsparungen motivieren, zum Energiesparen befähigen und drittens mit Effizienzverbesserungen Gas sparen. Die energetischen Sanierungen sollten beschleunigt werden. Eine schrittweise Steigerung der Gebäudesanierungen von weniger als einem auf vier Prozent pro Jahr und eine Priorisierung auf schlecht gedämmte und gasbeheizte Gebäude würde bis 2025 jährlich 14 Prozent des Gasbedarfs zum Heizen einsparen. Dafür sind klare Zielvorgaben für Sanierungsraten, Mindestenergiestandards für den Bestand und eine Stärkung der Programme für energetische Gebäudesanierungen notwendig.
