The Council adopted today a mandate to start negotiations with the European Parliament on updates to the European market infrastructure regulation and directive. The review aims to make EU clearing services more attractive and resilient, to support the EU’s open strategic autonomy and to preserve the EU’s financial stability.

Die Verhandlungen über die EU-Richtlinie über die Gesamtenergieeffizienz von Gebäuden (EPBD) werden voraussichtlich am Donnerstagabend (7. Dezember) zum Abschluss kommen. Die EU-Staaten wollen die Verpflichtung zur Renovierung von Gebäuden abschwächen.

Die EU-Kommission hat Vorschläge für strengere Vorschriften zu Tiertransporten und Haustieren vorgelegt. Dabei handelt es sich jedoch nur um einen Bruchteil der ursprünglich geplanten Überarbeitung des EU-Tierschutzrechts.

Der jüngste Kompromissvorschlag zum siebenjährigen EU-Haushalt, der umfangreiche Kürzungen und Umschichtungen vorsieht, konnte die Mitgliedstaaten bisher nicht überzeugen. Dabei bleibt eine Woche vor dem entscheidenden EU-Gipfel nur noch wenig Zeit.

Der Ausschuss für Industrie, Forschung und Energie (ITRE) des Europäischen Parlaments hat am Donnerstag (7. Dezember) den Berichtsentwurf des Cyber-Solidaritätsgesetzes angenommen. Das Dossier hängt jedoch weiterhin im Ministerrat fest.
