European Council President Charles Michel met President Aliyev of Azerbaijan and Prime Minister Pashinyan of Armenia in Brussels. It was the sixth high-level meeting of this kind, aimed at normalization of the relations between the two countries.

Press release: new spokesperson of the President of the European Council

The Council today adopted implementing decisions amending the recovery and resilience plans of France, Malta, Slovakia and Ireland. The amended plans of France, Malta and Slovakia now include a new REPowerEU chapter. This will contribute to accelerating their transition towards clean energy, diversifying their energy supplies and improving their energy efficiency.

Im Zusammenhang mit dem Europäischen Semester hat der Rat heute Schlussfolgerungen zu den eingehenden Überprüfungen 2023 im Rahmen des Verfahrens bei einem makroökonomischen Ungleichgewicht angenommen.

Angesichts der anhaltenden Lage in Syrien hat der Rat beschlossen, die nach dem Erbeben im Februar eingeführte Ausnahme von der Sanktionsregelung für humanitäre Zwecke zu verlängern.

Erklärung des Hohen Vertreters im Namen der Europäischen Union zur Erklärung einiger Drittländer, sich dem Durchführungsbeschluss (GASP) 2023/1299 des Rates vom 26. Juni 2023 zur Durchführung des Beschlusses 2011/235/GASP über restriktive Maßnahmen gegen bestimmte Personen und Organisationen angesichts der Lage in Iran anzuschließen.

Der Rat hat heute zwei Beschlüsse angenommen, in denen er den Standpunkt der EU zu den vorgeschlagenen Änderungen des Übereinkommens über öffentlich unterstützte Exportkredite festlegt. Der Standpunkt der EU besteht darin, beide Änderungen zu unterstützen.
