The Council conclusions set the EU’s position for the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26) in Glasgow from 31 October to 1 November 2021. The conclusions emphasise the extreme urgency to step up the global response to address the climate emergency and underline the need for a just and fair climate transition across the world.

Az EU–Nyugat-Balkán csúcstalálkozóra 2021. október 6-án Brdo pri Kranjuban (Szlovénia) került sor. Az uniós vezetők megállapodtak a brdói nyilatkozatról, amelyhez a nyugat-balkáni partnerek is csatlakoztak.

A Tanács első olvasatban elfogadta az aarhusi rendelet módosítására vonatkozó álláspontját. A rendelet meghatározza, hogy az EU hogyan garantálja az Aarhusi Egyezménynek való teljes körű megfelelést.
