On 18 March 2014 Vladimir Putin signed the agreement on Crimea becoming part of the Russian Federation - two days after a controversial referendum. To this day much of the international community still doesn't recognise the peninsula as part of Russia but as Ukrainian territory. The Speaker of the House of Commons, John Bercow, has ruled out the possibility of a third vote on the Brexit agreement unless there are substantial changes to the proposed deal. May was still seeking a majority for the deal which has already been rejected twice by parliament. Is this the end for May?

France's grand debate has come to an end. President Macron launched the forum in January in reaction to the yellow vest protests. The idea was to start a dialogue with the protesters and seek joint solutions. More than 8,000 discussion rounds were held in cities and villages across the country. 18-year-old Bianca Andreescu beat the much more experienced German player Angelique Keber in the finals of the Indian Wells Masters tennis tournament on Monday. The world of tennis has a new star and Romanian media are trying to claim some of the glory since although Andreescu is a Canadian citizen, her parents are Romanian.
