Statement by the High Representative on behalf of the European Union on the alignment of certain third countries with Council Decision (CFSP) 2023/726 of 31 March 2023 amending certain Council Decisions concerning restrictive measures in order to insert provisions on a humanitarian exemption.

The Council approved conclusions confirming EU support for lasting peace.

The Council added two individuals and one group affiliated to ISIL and operating mainly in the Cabo Delgado region in Mozambique to the list of those subject to restrictive measures against ISIL (Da'esh) and Al-Qaeda.

The Council decided to list 25 individuals and 8 entities in the framework of EU restrictive measures in view of the situation in Syria over drug trade, and support for regime-affiliated militia.

The Council decided to impose further restrictive measures on 8 individuals and 1 entity for human rights violations in Iran.
