On the last day of the United Kingdom's membership of the EU, European Council President Charles Michel, European Parliament President David Sassoli and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen published an article in several European media.

The Council has adopted the decision on the conclusion of the withdrawal agreement on behalf of the EU. The withdrawal agreement will enter into force upon the UK's exit from the EU, on 31 January 2020 at midnight.

The meeting of the European Council will take place on 20 February in the Europa building in Brussels. The press centre is located in the adjacent Justus Lipsius building.

European Council President Charles Michel and President of the Republic of North Macedonia Stevo Pendarovski met in Skopje. They discussed the reform agenda, the EU enlargement process and the upcoming EU-Western Balkans summit in Zagreb.

During his visit to Tirana, President Charles Michel met Prime Minister of Albania Edi Rama and held a joint press conference. They highlithed the main topics of their discussion: EU-Albania relations, the future of the accession process and the upcoming EU-Western Balkans summit in Zagreb.

Representatives of the European Union and the Permanent Representatives of the League of Arab States held the eight meeting of the EU Political and Security Committee and the League of Arab States Permanent Representatives on 23 January 2020 in Brussels, and adopted a joint communiqué.

EU Presidents Michel, Sassoli and von der Leyen are joining world leaders at the World Holocaust Forum 2020 in Jerusalem and delivered a joint message on the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau.
