European Council

On 17 October, the European Council adopted conclusions on Ukraine, the Middle East, ensuring a rules-based international order, competitiveness, migration, the Republic of Moldova, Georgia, external relations and other items.

Before the start of the European Council meeting of 17 October 2024, European Council President Charles Michel and President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressed the press.

The Council approved a declaration on fostering Jewish life and combating antisemitism.

The second meeting of the Accession Conference with Albania at ministerial level opened negotiations with Albania on Cluster 1: Fundamentals.

Eurogroup President Paschal Donohoe delivered a keynote speech to Bruegel.
