Ministers agreed on a Council decision requesting the European Commission to provide a complementary study to its existing impact assessment on the sustainable use of plant protection products.

EU energy ministers today reached a political agreement on a Council regulation that sets a market correction mechanism to protect citizens and the economy against excessively high prices. The regulation aims to limit episodes of excessive gas prices in the EU that do not reflect world market prices, while ensuring security of energy supply and the stability of financial markets.

The Council decided to temporarily deploy a transitional Planning Assistance Team with the objective of planning and preparing a possible future civilian CSDP mission in Armenia.

Der Rat hat eine Einigung über einen Vorschlag zur Überwachung und Verringerung der Methanemissionen im Energiesektor erzielt. Über den Text werden nun Verhandlungen mit dem Europäischen Parlament geführt. Er ist der erste Text seiner Art und stellt einen wesentlichen Beitrag zu den Klimaschutzmaßnahmen dar, da Methan nach Kohlendioxid das zweitwichtigste Treibhausgas ist.
