On 3 May 2022, President Charles Michel will travel to Alexandroupolis, Greece, where he will attend the inauguration of the construction works for a new LNG terminal, which will help phase out the EU’s dependence on Russian gas. On 4 May, the President will be in Chisinau, Moldova to meet with President Maia Sandu.

The EU issued a declaration on the 25th anniversary of the Convention on the Prohibition of the Development, Production, Stockpiling and Use of Chemical Weapons, stressing the EU's concern about the re-emergence of use of chemical weapons.
