Ahead of UNFCCC COP27, the Council adopted conclusions underlining its strong commitment to deliver on climate finance. The Council recalled that the EU and its member states are the largest contributor to international public climate finance, and since 2013 have more than doubled their contribution to climate finance to support developing countries. In its conclusions, the Council calls on other donors to step up efforts in this regard, and it expects that the collective USD 100 billion per year climate finance mobilisation goal will be met in 2023.

Der Rat hat Schlussfolgerungen zur überarbeiteten EU-Liste nicht kooperativer Länder und Gebiete für Steuerzwecke angenommen. Insgesamt zwölf Länder haben entweder keinen konstruktiven Dialog mit der EU über verantwortungsvolles Handeln im Steuerbereich aufgenommen oder sind ihren Verpflichtungen zur Umsetzung der erforderlichen Reformen nicht nachgekommen.

Der Rat einigte sich auf seinen Standpunkt zum REPowerEU-Vorschlag, einem Plan zur Beendigung der Abhängigkeit der Union von Einfuhren fossiler Brennstoffe aus Russland.

Der Rat hat heute die Verordnung über den Beteiligungsketten-Ansatz angenommen. Dabei handelt es sich um einen überarbeiteten Rahmen für die Bankenabwicklung, mit dem sichergestellt werden soll, dass die Banken widerstandsfähig bleiben und künftigen Schocks standhalten können.

Der Rat gibt endgültig grünes Licht für eine Richtlinie über angemessene gesetzliche Mindestlöhne gegeben, die dazu beitragen wird, angemessene Arbeits- und Lebensbedingungen für Arbeitnehmerinnen und Arbeitnehmer in Europa zu schaffen.

Der Rat billigt mit dem Gesetz über digitale Dienste neue Vorschriften, durch die der digitale Raum vor der Verbreitung illegaler Inhalte geschützt werden soll.
