A Tanács által a mai napon elfogadott rendelet annak biztosítására hivatott, hogy 2030-tól kezdődően az új gépkocsik átlagosan 37,5%-kal, az új kisteherautók pedig 31%-kal kevesebb szén-dioxidot bocsássanak ki.

A földgáz uniós belső piacára vonatkozó szabályokat a jövőben a harmadik országokba irányuló, illetve onnan kiinduló földgázvezetékekre is alkalmazni kell. A Tanács módosítást fogadott el a földgázirányelvre vonatkozóan.

Az EU lépéseket tesz annak érdekében, hogy az európai fogyasztók nagyobb számú televízió- és rádióműsorhoz férhessenek hozzá online. A Tanács a mai napon olyan irányelvet fogadott el, amely az ilyen műsorokban szereplő, szerzői joggal védett anyagok engedélyezésének megkönnyítése révén lehetővé teszi, hogy e műsorok Unió-szerte hozzáférhetők legyenek.

Az EU módosítja a szerzői jogokra vonatkozó jogszabályi keretét, hogy az a mai digitális korban megfelelően alkalmazható legyen. A Tanács a mai napon irányelvet fogadott el, amellyel korszerűsíti a hatályos uniós szerzői jogot, előkészítve ezáltal a valódi digitális egységes piachoz vezető utat.
